Unstuffed Cabbage Roll Soup

2 lbs of Ground Beef or Turkey
1 large onion chopped
1 - 2 tsp minced garlic
1 small/medium head of cabbage chopped
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 Cup water
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
1 tsp Greek seasoning or pepper flakes (optional)
In a large pan heat brown meat. (You can add a little olive oil or fresh butter if you're using very lean beef.) Add onions and garlic. Cook for another minute. Drain, if necessary. Add the chopped cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, salt, Greek seasoning or pepper flakes, and water. Bring to a boil...cover and simmer for 45- 60 min or until cabbage is tender.
